SCAD RenderQ Art Direction

RenderQ is SCAD student media’s digital media publication. Seeing an opportunity for visual storytelling, I pitched the Art Director role to SCAD’s Student Media Director, which later became a paid and permanent position. I led in finding illustrators for written content and socmed campaigns.

The Challenge: Improving Visual Engagement

With lackluster stock photos and generic images acting as article covers, the publication was in need of visuals to match the usefulness and variety of its content.

Additionally, I redesigned our social media templates to highlight the new visual direction, bringing the publication up to par with social media best practices.

The Work: Finding Illustrators & Crafting Copy

With visuals needed for article covers, events, and social media campaigns, I was in charge of finding and directing illustrators to complete projects in a timely manner.

For social media campaigns and posters, I worked with the editor-in-chief to figure out our campaign goals and put it into copywriting and design.
